EllipsoTM-ConcordiaTM
The Concordia constellation provides coverage from 50 degrees south latitude to 50 degrees north latitude, with a focus on tropical and southern areas that the Borealis satellites do not reach. The initial complement of seven Concordia satellites was to be deployed in an circular equatorial orbit at an altitude of 8,050 kilometers with a launch of 4 satellites and a subsequent launch of the remaining three.
Concordia's constellation configuration is unique in that it is designed to provide highly efficient 24-hour coverage of the 50-degrees-north to 50-degrees-south region, and that it can begin limited service with either an initial 4 satellites, or with the full complement of seven satellites. Concordia is designed to complement Borealis capacity north of the equator, while still being capable of operating as a standalone system. Concordia's orbit architecture and altitudes enable efficient coverage at very low cost and enable initial service with either 4 or 7 satellites.
